POGGENSEE’S POSTCARDS: We salute autumn’s travelers now coming through Iowa headed south

IDA GROVE, Iowa, Sept. 26, 2014 — Photographer Don Poggensee told us the other day that he was up and outdoors at 7 a.m. on a recent morning “and saw that the ruby-throated hummingbirds and monarchs have found my prairie blue sage flowers, on their way south.”  So he saluted their big migration by grabbing these photos in a few moments of “great image making.”  Indeed!
