POGGENSEE’S POSTCARDS: Signs of spring are all around Ida Grove, and the rest of Iowa, too!

IDA GROVE, Iowa, May 5, 2015 — Suddenly, there they are right in front of you — a great egret, then a great blue herron and over there a white-faced ibis, all out at Moorehead Park Lake, just outside this northwest Iowa town.  Around the community, the magnolias are in bloom, so are the crab apple trees and apple trees. “Spring into life,” counsels our photographer friend Don Poggensee, who lives here, “by recording what you see — the beauty of creation in full bloom.”
